Senior SMSF Accountant

We are looking for a Senior SMSF Accountant to take ownership of a portfolio of self-managed super funds, from financial statements and annual returns through to the technical questions advisers and trustees rely on us to answer. This is a senior, hands-on SMSF role for someone who knows superannuation compliance inside out and wants to do it properly.

What you will do

• Prepare SMSF financial statements, member statements and annual returns for a portfolio of self-managed super funds
• Manage end-to-end SMSF compliance, including contributions caps, pension obligations and the requirements of the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act
• Review fund data and reconciliations through cloud-based SMSF software, keeping every fund accurate and audit-ready throughout the year
• Coordinate independent SMSF audits and resolve any queries that arise
• Act as a technical sounding board for advisers and trustees on contributions, pensions, limited recourse borrowing and complex fund events
• Stay across superannuation legislation as it changes and apply it in practice across the funds you look after
• Support and mentor SMSF administrators in the team

What you will bring

• Solid experience administering self-managed super funds end to end
• Strong working knowledge of SMSF compliance, tax and the SIS Act
• CA, CPA or equivalent qualification, or significant progress toward it
• Confidence with cloud-based SMSF administration software such as Class or BGL
• A meticulous eye for detail and genuine care about getting the work right
• Clear communication with advisers, trustees and colleagues
